Respones to Manpret Sohki

I agree with your blog about bad comedians, and that they do just pick on certain people and focus their jokes around them which may be funny to start off with but then become tiring! I often think that bad comedians are insecure about themselves and try their hardest to be liked by others. I'm sure they would not like the joke on them if it was the other way around!

Abortion!

This is a topic which I feel very strongly towards...I do not disagree with abortion but I do agree with bringing down the abortion deadline as I believe that the baby is a human at 24 weeks, as baby's have been born at this stage an gone on to live a normal life. " Our son was born at 24 weeks weighing 1 pound 9Oz" http://www.answerbag.com/

I Understand why people may consider abortion such as pregnancy by rape, or are not financially able to support the baby.I just don't understand why people leave it very late!! As the longer you leave it the more likely you are going to become attached to the baby and the abortion process is horrific at the final stage!

Response to speak your mind blog

I agree 100 percent with what you are saying about animal cruelty and their is some people who should not be aloud children never mind their pets! I think it is discus ting how they have no respect for their animals, or even for themselves! It is important for people to understand that looking after an animal is hard work and they need to be able to have the time and commitment to be able to look after it, and not just dismiss it when they are bored!!

So you think you are funny!

After the last lecture about comediens it is intresting to see how people take "jokes" in different ways and how jokes are often insulting in some form eg racist or sexist- for example it is prosumed that women are worse drivers than men, even though there is no eviedence of this!!

Alot of the time people find jokes funny when it does not relate to them, as no one likes having the joke on them! It is important to be able to laugh at yourself, and be able to take a joke.

Some comedians at times so abit to far and people may not know how to react especially when in large groups, and get slated by the media for this. A recent example of this was Johnathon Ross his bad jokes led him to being sacked. It is important to tell jokes in the correct context for their audiences. "Great comedy requires a nasty streak that pushes people out of their comfort zones." http://www.telegraph.co.uk/

Response to sabrinas blog

I agree with the distribution of the volcano, and I agree that people are not being given the help and support which is required in some circumstances!!..This country does not deal very well with disasters and they re should be something done about it!

I don't believe budget airlines such as ryanair or easy jet should have to pay for people expenses as the flights are extremely cheap, which is why they are so popular! However, I believe more could of been done to help people who are stuck all over the world such as accommodation should be provided even if it is very basic..least it is better than a airport floor!!

However, as this does not happen often and proerly one of the first times of all airports closing there is not a lot of perperation which can be done as it is a natural disaster!

Prostitution!

Prostitution is basically selling for body for money. It is an extremely major issue within the UK and across the world. I do not think it is expect able within society as it is extremely dangerous and I believe it can strip away a persons identity and pride.

No body wants to have to sell their body to provide for themselves or their children but for some young females they have no choice in the matter as they are often trapped by gangs... and threatened with their life if they try to escape. "Most women enter prostitution because of lack of choice and many are coerced by pimps or traffickers" http://www.endviolenceagainstwomen.org.uk/data/files/prostitution_fact_sheet.pdf. Often young females from aboard are promised a new life with a well paid job and they will be looked after. However, as they are normally extremely young and naive they come over to the UK or other parts of the world and become trapped!! "Up to 70% of women enter prostitution before age 18 and the global average age of entry into prostitution is only 13–14 years old." http://www.endviolenceagainstwomen.org.uk/data/files/prostitution_fact_sheet.pdf

Prostitutes often have drug related problems, maybe it is block out what they are doing, and want to escape from reality??

I believe it is not just about the prostitutes, it is about the men who are involved with prostitutes, are they unable to control themselves.. and not have any thought or consideration for how the women actually feel.. and why they are working on the streets. Also, prostitution relates highly to violence and even sometimes death! over 60% of prostitutes have experienced some form of violence, it is extremely scary as they have no idea who there next client will be....

Once a cheat always a cheat!

Why do people cheat? there are lots of explanations for this, and each individual has their own opinion on this topic.

Cheating is one of the most com man causes of relationship brake ups, as cheating brakes all the rules which makes a relationship, trust, loyalty, honor and respect. Some people cheat because they have no sexual connection with their loved ones, and want to put 'spice' into their love life...or some people are simply obsessed with sex!! Often doing so without thinking of the consequences.

Also, it becomes difficult when their is children involved and it can effect them immensely as it brakes their family 'routine'. As some parents have awful separations had the children do not know how to cope with the situation and may not have the support from others to get through it. Over the years adultery has increased substantially, as the consequences are not as bad as they used to be.

If someone has been with their partners for a long time, they are more than likely to know when something is not right by their behaviour for example ; "partners maybe become more attentive and nice, or on the con tray, indifferent and aggressive." http://www.peoplesrelationships.com/

The media pay great interest to cheating celebritys bad news' is 'good news' for some media. People seem very interested in celebrity brakes up and they want an insight of what has happened... but surly they wouldn't like their love life published across the world.

Tattos!!!

Many people have tattoos to symbolise what they believe in, and have them to express their personality and characters. People put great depth and thought into their body art. "Some tattoos have great meaning that you will never know by just looking at them." www.about.com/tattoo .

Tattoos are becoming more acceptable in society as people who had tattoos in previous generations were stereotyped as 'bad' or as a 'criminal', maybe because they were seen as unusual and did not understand why someone would have something permanent on their skin! Also, criminals and sailors were the first in history to get tattoos so society carried on this stereotype but it is slowly fading.

However, in today's society if people are covered in tattoos or have inappropriate tattoos then they maybe discriminated in certain ways such as for a job.

Personally, I like tattoos and think it is important that people express themselves and their beliefs. I have one on my foot of a little pattern of stars, even though it has no personal meaning to me it still represents me in a different way. I struggle to understand why people are so against tattoos as each individual is free to make thier on choice about their own body.

Masturbation

Masturbation in society is a subject which has become more open over the last twenty years. This is because society's views have changed, and it is not frowned upon as much as it was.

Masturbation used to be seen as evil, and was forbidden in certain religions and cultures as it was seen as losing their innocence as their used to be myths such as it was dirty, would make you go blind.

Masturbation has become more acceptable due to the media, as sex is being advertised more in movies, magazines and music videos. People are interested in this side of media which is where the term 'sex sells' comes from, as a lot of money can be made within this industry.

Masturbation is perfectly normally and it is apart of a persons sexual development, However there is a time and place where it should be carried out. (e.g not in public).

"Masturbation relives stress and endorphens (the pleasure hormones) in to your system to make you more relaxed." www.about.com/teenadvice

Men are more open about talking about masturbation than females, as they may not feel as ashamed for doing it.

Who's round is it next?...

To some people alcohol is becoming a growing concern in relation to anti- social behaviour in today's society, and it is having huge effects on our health.

Binge drinking is apparently one of the worst types of drinking as people who binge drink only intend to go out and get very very drunk and consume their weekly alcohol units within a couple of hours. " Binge drinking is all about boozing and simply getting drunk." www.thesite.org/drink and drugs . This can cause anti social behaviour such as becoming violent over 76,000 facial injures happen every year due to alcohol, when people would not normally Carry out this behaviour if they were sober .

Everyone has had the walk of shame the morning after the night before, it is extremely em brassing when you can not remember much from the previous night and have to piece parts together to remember what antics you got up to.

Why do people binge drink? it is becoming part of the 21st century and pubs and clubs are competing with each other to get the customers in by having special offers and cheap nights for students so in the way the public houses are encouraging binge drinking.

Kids Film!

When we went to watch the film Kids the other week, it is nothing like i expected the film to be. For a start how young were the kids in the film? I think the film in some ways reflects the way society is today as the topic sex is becoming very open and children are learning about sex at a very young age. This is a positive and a negative because children are not as naive when it comes to sex and what they are expecting from their 'lovers' but it is also encouraging their hormones!!

The film was not a true representation of children in today's society and was a typically stereotype on the boys in the film. Although , i think 'antisocial' behaviour is a growing problem within society due to certain influences such as the media because the media on a majority of the time stereotype children in a bad way, by doing this can lead to self fulfilling prophercyHowever, if children to watch the film with their parents I'm sure it would make them think twice about doing the things which were featured in the film.

Stealing

Stealing is a topic in which society is extremely judgemental upon, and no one understands all the reasons for why people choose to steal?! and for alot of people it is a grey area.

The main reason for people stealing is that people who live in poverty due to lack of income so they steal because they need to be able to live, or need to support others such as their children and that is the option that is available to them at the time and may not be able to ask for help off family and friends.

There are other people who need to steal to fund their habit such as drugs or alcohol addicts, as they are expensive habits they need to make money quick. Which involves a lot of quick burglary's such as stealing cash or laptops or phones as they know people will buy them. People who steal to feed their addiction would be in a different state of mind, and will not be thinking of the consequences of their stealing and how they are hurting others even their family members.

Greed is a reason why people steal as "their will always be some people who are just plain greedy and want everything weather they can afford it or not." www.helium.com and they enjoy the adrenaline rush of maybe getting caught. Also, they may want attention from others and stealing is an easy way of achieving this. Rich and famous people may result to stealing because they are bored with their life's and want excitement.

Overall, some people may have little morals when it comes to stealing from society or family and friends. Where as some people may not have been brought up in the environment where stealing is seen as wrong.

lieing!!

Is it OK for people to lie? Everyone at some point in their life has told a lie... even if it is just a little white lie. Little white lies are surely not that harmful as long as they are not hurting anybody in the process. Such as if a friend says do you like her dress? and you say yes but you don't like it really? surly if it gives them a boost of confidence then it doesn't matter? ..everyone has different tastes anyway!

However, there is a line of when it is OK to lie and when it's not? People who constantly lie to gain attention to them selves often create little rapor and friendships with other people because there lies can cause betrayal and hurt to others.

Some people think they can tell when people are lying because of their body language as they may start to fidget, not make eye contact, became really warm and start to sweat ... however some people are really good liers, and can be very deceitful!

I think little white lies and fibs are fine as long as no one is getting hurt!!

Smoking.

Smoking is a subject which I relate to well as i am a casual smoker myself, which is the worst kind of smoking as I am not addicted, just enjoy smoking casually.

The main reasons for which people smoke are;

Peer Pressure ( as it is seen as 'cool' to smoke)

Enjoy smoking

Or addicted

Even though over "106,000 people in the UK die each year due to smoking." http://www.patient.co.uk/health/Smoking-The-Facts.htm people still continue to smoke. However, more enforcements to combat smoking are coming into place in the United Kingdom such as the smoking ban in public areas, no advertising cigarettes on the television and some shops are even selling cigarettes under the counter which would have a major effect on their sales.

However, the government wants to raise the cost of tobacco as the taxes will increase, which then goes to the NHS and is being spent on people being treated for tobacco related issues. It costs the NHS millions on pounds every year. So the tax is being circulated and their is very little benefits.

Everyone has there different reasons for smoking, for a lot of people it relives stress and makes them feel better by taking their mind off the problem at hand. People, especially youths maybe influenced by the media without even realising by mimicking their role models behaviour, and are more likely to try tobacco. Media is a advertisement for cigarettes without people realising and the media use this deliberately to create the image of the character.

Being Bad Field Trip

Trip suggestion: Tobacco Factory - As it would be interesting to find out the manufactures point of view.
